Hello everyone,

I'd like to ask how should I upgrade if I want to game in 1440p 60FPS, maybe play some esport titles in 120FPS.

My specs:
Intel Core i3-9100F
Gigabyte B365M DS3H
HyperX Fury 3000Mhz Cl16(2x4gb)
Corsair Vengeance 3000Mhz Cl16(2x4gb)
an ASUS Geforce GTX 970
Aerocool Cylon case
an old FSP PSU, I think either 450W or 500W

I feel like I'm in a need for an upgrade rather than tweak setting to get the performance, so I want to ask people more knowledgeable than me on what is the most optimal upgrade for my rig
I was thinking about upgrading to an RTX2060, but I don't know if the CPU would bottleneck it.
Also is my RAM configuration bad? I'm running the Hyperx memory in the first and third slots and the Corsair in the other two.

Edit: Well after the helpful feedback I decided to stay with my current rig, and I will wait until something happens that warrants me having to upgrade. Sorry if I wasted anyone's time, but I want to thank everyone who offered help.
P.S.:How do I set this thread as solved?

From pc-builds.com/bottleneck-calculator
While running general tasks, processor Intel Core i3-9100F will be utilized 100.0% and graphic card NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 will be utilized 83.0% .

If you go for RTX 2060 than you could go for something like i7-8700K, i7-9700K

Also its okay to use different brand RAM together, untill they are same specifications, brand name doesnt matter.

Also change that generic PSU

I would game at 1080P until you can afford a new build.

So it would be better for me to get a whole new rig, rather than upgrade? Because where I live, the prices for Intel 9000 series CPUs are way higher than getting for example a Ryzen 5600x and a new motherboard for it, or getting a newer socket Intel CPU, with motherboard.

What country are you located and what is your budget?
I'm in Romania, but I think I'm better off sticking with my rig for now because right now I only could spend money on either a newer GPU, or a CPU and motherboard upgrade, along with a better PSU. And honestly I was only thinking of getting a new rig when something fails, because besides GTA6 I'm not interested in any games that I couldn't run on medium graphics 1080p 60ish FPS with my current rig.

Even tough I decided to stay with my current rig for now, this is still very helpful. I wouldn't know how to research this kind of stuff, so thank you for spending your time to help me out.

If your current processor can put out enough FPS in 1080p then it can do about the same @1440p you would just need to upgrade the video card.

The CPU doesn't really care about the resolution but the higher you go the better video card you need to run the higher resolution with the same settings.
