How to Access Folder Options in Windows 8?

Folder Options has been a great and true friend of Windows users since quite a long time. Apart from allowing the users to change the configuration from double-click to single click while opening any file or folder, the Folder Options box majorly helps the Windows users show or hide the files/folders that are hidden by default or manually.

Folder Options also allows the users to view the extensions of the known file types, which further enables them to change the file extensions from the GUI itself, without typing the entire rename command in the command prompt.

All in all, Folder Options is a must-access box in almost every version of Microsoft Windows. However, because the interface of the Windows 8/8.1 operating system is slightly different, the location of the option from where the Folder Options box can be initialize is changed.

You can initialize the Folder Options box in Windows 8/8.1 by following the steps given below:

■Log on to the Windows 8/Windows 8.1 computer with any account.
■From the Start screen, click the Desktop tile.
■Once on the desktop window, click the File Explorer icon from the taskbar.
■On the opened This PC window, click the View menu from the top.



■From the displayed commands and controls in the View ribbon, click the Options button.
■From the displayed menu, click Change folder and search options.



■Once this is done, the Folder Options box will be displayed, and you can make the appropriate modifications in the configurations as desired.
