I started a CHKDSK on a hard drive which was refusing to have anything download to it on my laptop due to it being ‘damaged’. However the CHKDSK started on 9 percent and has been on 9 percent for hours. There is nothing on the disk due to its problem being it won’t let anything be downloaded to it. Is there any way to stop chkdsk since it seems to be stuck on 9 percent?

I believe Ctrl+C is the only way it might be cancelled, but there are parameters (certain points in the process IIRC).

The only way to "stop" it otherwise, is to power down the system - although that does come with a healthy risk of data corruption.
