Right, first of all these are my computer specs: (Question below PC specs)

Now heres my question: How can I change my CPU fan speed in my computers bios? I've read loads of articles on mine but my bios is nothing like any of the articles nor does it have any of the options. I have screenshot each bios window for you to see to help your answer in telling me how to change my speeds. I've tried speedfan and loads of other programs but none of them have worked. Basically I've just upgraded to the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU fan from the default amd fan. The default AMD fan would be quiet when idle a bit louder when playing small games however very loud when playing big games such as BF4 obviously from where it was having to work harder to cool. However since the upgrade my cooler master has stayed at the same speed (the lowest speed setting and its silent) no matter what program or game I have open. The issue here is when I play battlefield 4 my CPU goes over the recommended safe 61 degrees to about 70. I want to have the CPU fan work faster - I dont care how fast - as long as it keeps my cpu below 61 degrees when on battlefield. I don't get why it isin't auto adjusting like the default stock fan ive not changed any settings....

well... you could get a mid to high end motherboard that has fan settings (most boards made by ASUS and ASRock) and move everything over to it.

Or go download SpeedFAN and set it to run in the background and control your fan that way. It is rather old and jinkey software, but it does the trick for systems that just have an annoying fan.

Now, keep in mind I am more familiar with the Intel side of things rather than AMD, but pretty much all CPUs can hit 80-85*c regularly without any issues at all. At 60*c most CPUs are just starting to get warmed up. Also, your board will not let your system fry itself (especially an ASUS board). If your fans are not ramping up, it is probably because your system simply does not need it.

In BIOS, HW Monitor... CPU Q-Fan Function to Enabled, set CPU Q-Fan Mode to Turbo, save and exit Bios and see if the fan does spin at full speed.

did a little research, and you are right, those chips have a very low safe temperature limit. Still, a utility like Speed Fan can help you manually or automatically increase the fan speed on the system.

The EVO comes with clips to mount a 2nd fan. On mine I picked up 2 nice little corsair fans and put them in a push-pull configuration which keeps my i7 at a max temperature of ~65-70*c when over clocked and under heavy load. Adding that 2nd fan can certainly improve performance.

What do you mean by HW monitor? Also I don't see any CPU Q-Fan Function or CPU Q-Fan Mode options..

thanks for your long and detailed answer. I have speedfan installed and have been trying to work it but not having any luck.. second to this there don't seem to be any good or updated tutorials on how change the speeds (im new when it comes to all of this - its my first custom built computer and im 16). I been wanting to play battlefield but am fearful due to the high temperature at 60 - 75 that I hit. I don't really want to buy a second fan as I'm sure this one would be fine if it actually changed speeds and ran faster rather then its silent and slow mode.

Ah! So thats where my fan settings and temperatures are, thank you!

Ok so i changed that setting you said from standard to turbo and its gone from 600rpm (which it has always been) to 1000rpm although weirdly despite going up 400rpm my cpu temp is just above 40 degrees whilst on on the internet. I wonder if the RPM will increase when i play BF4 now? The fan goes to 1600RPM some how.
I'll check battlefield 4 tomorrow and see if the fan adjust speeds and what the temperature is.

What has changing that from standard to turbo done? I thought maybe turn would have maxed it 1600 rpm but its at 1000. Also. Will the rpm now increase when i play battlefield to keep my cpu below 61 degrees?

According to the manual, with turbo the fan would stay at max speed no matter the temperature. Since 1000 RPM, have you connected some resistor between fan and board's header?

Nope no resistor or anything simply plugged in the cpu fan straight into the motherboard header

My BIOS is the exact same as his and my motherboard is the ASUS M3N72-D but whenever I plug in my stock fan into the fan socket on the motherboard the entire HW monitor section is in grey or won't allow me to change it. It also shows my fan speed as 0rpm when I can hear a jet engine from my computer.. My CPU is the Phenom II 9650 btw. Using stock fan. Can you help?
