So I recently got into playing cs go and I wanted to play on stretched resolution but I kept getting black bars, I watched a couple of videos and they said go to nvidia control panel and change display settings. I went to nvidia control panel and I didn’t have display settings. I did a little bit of digging and someone said that you must change ur default Gpu in bios in order to open nvidia display settings in nvivida control panel. I went into my bios and I can’t find an option to do so. My laptop is msi gl73 8rc-218

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Can you check and see what BIOS version you're on for your laptop? Following that, check to see the version for your OS, right click Start>Left click System, the version for your OS should come up at the bottom of the new window.

If your BIOS and OS are all up to date, manually download the latest GPU driver from Nvidia's support site, then use DDU to uninstall your GPU drivers, then reboot to Safe Mode. Once here, manually reinstall your GPU driver, in an elevated command, i.e, Right click installer>Run as Administrator.

See if that helps you get into settings for your GPU while in the OS GUI.
