How to Change Icons for Files Associated to Certain Programs?

how do i change the icons displayed for files that are opened by winrar? im not talking about the executable winrar but the files associated to it. the same for files that are opened by Windows Photo Viewer. for some reason they have been changed to the icons you see in the above picture

>> Right click on file and go to properties
>> Click on the customize option
>> now you need to click on change icon.

Finally you can select your icon and click on ok. this will start working fine.

You may change icons of your folder by clicking on their propoerties and click on change icon. now you need to select the icon and click on ok. your icons will be changed.
