Hi I just put together my first computer and i have put corsair vengeance pro 16gb 2133mhz an don my bios it says they are at 1333 mhz. How do i change this?
Motherboard: Asus maximuss VI HERO.

Ps. How do i stop overclocking i have a 4690k but also have a stock cpu cooler...

I'm not sure how to disable that on your board, you're going to have to wait for someone familiar with your board and BIOS. I apologize.

Also, I should note, that if your board has that RAM speed only available when it's overclocked, it will automatically set it to its highest non-OC'd speed and you have to adjust it on your own.

I'll just put all my advice here...

1) Read motherboard manual and ensure memory sticks are in correct slots. For two sticks that MAY mean #2 and #4 like A1, B1.

2) Update your motherboard BIOS to the latest.

3) BIOS-> select "XMP" (may be in CPU section) and verify that you now show 2133MHz. Save and exit.

4) run MEMTEST to test DDR3 memory: www.memtest.org

5) run CPU diagnostics: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/19792/Intel-Processor-Diagnostic-Tool-64-bit-

6) Setup fan control software from motherboard site (may be a larger package) and optimize to minimize noise such as lowest RPM until 45degC then ramp up.

Other:
Your computer won't automatically overclock AFAIK. You should see the non-Turbo clock speed in the BIOS which is 3.9GHz. It only changes if you select the Overclock feature in BIOS or through overclocking software in Windows.
