How to change the screen resolution of LG pc monitor

Hello,just bought an LG flatron W1943SS and each time i try to auto adjust it it says " for optimal display change resolution to 1360 x 768". how do i change the resolution of the monitor?

In windows XP right click, select properties, select settings (as I remember, the far right tab, am in linux ATM) and move the resolution slider to where you want it. This will set your desktop; if you use any games that take control of the graphics adapter you will have to set the resolution from an menu in the game.
