How to check if GPU is broken

All of a sudden, my monitor would show "No signal" when I turned my PC on. To know the problem, I tried plugging the monitor to the motherboard and removed the graphics card. As I did that, the PC finally turned on. What can I do to check if my gpu is already broken? Can I still do something to troubleshoot other possibilities? My gpu is a gt 630 btw.

Best test would be to install the GPU in another computer and see what happens. If you have the same issue, then most likely the GPU is dead.

Could an outdated driver be the reason for the PC's failure to boot with the GPU?

No.

Drivers are involved with the Windows environment and considering the computer can't even get to the Windows environment means the drivers is not at fault.
