[SOLVED] How to check if motherboard is compatible with a cpu(processor)?

Hello Everyone,
I am not building or upgrading any PC and just asking this question out of curiosity.
Suppose I want to build a pc. I buy a motherboard (amd, gigabit or any other brand) and want to know if a cpu/processor(intel or amd) is compatible or not.
How can I do this??

You look it up on your motherbaord's CPU support list eg

Yes, The motherboard manufacturer is the only one to say with certainty what processors are compatible with any given motherboard,
