So any other software that can give me VRM temps? I have Asus ROG Strix z370-F MOBO and i am planning to run 9700k @5GHz on it and i'm concerned about VRM temps... HWINFO/monitor doesn't work it shows some random numbers that doesn't even change when i stress the CPU.

Please help, thanks.

Solution
A thermal probe placed on whatever component of the VRM you want to measure connected to a digital thermometer. The Z370 Strix does not have a built in sensor for VRM temps.
Just keep an eye on your voltages, I wouldn't exceed 1.35v VCORE and don't max out LLC. The Z370 Strix does not have the greatest VRM in the world but it should handle a 9700k at 5ghz assuming you don't need an excessive amount of voltage to get there. If you are really worried about VRM temps try to rig up a fan so it blows air down onto the VRM area.

I've been running a 7700k at 5ghz 1.32v on a Z270 STRIX board with the same or very similar VRM as the Z370 Strix for several years now with no issues. Mind you the 9700k does consume a bit more power.

I know that i can theoretically run 9900k @5GHz on my MB but it's not optimal... i am upgrading from 8600k... Don't wanna get new MB because fu Intel and locally prices for 8700k and 9700k are exactly the same... So i'm basically choosing between +2 physical cores or HT... And since i'm doing gaming 95% of the time, i thought 9700k is better as it pulls ahead few % in most benchmarks i've seen. (over 8700k at the same clock speed)

EDIT: Can you elaborate on LCC thing? I'm not sure i'm follwing.
