Question How to clean a matte screen without clouding ?

After over a decade I still can't for the life of me clean matte screen monitors without it clouding. It usually clouds after I use a slightly damp microfiber and wipe it off with a dry one. What am I doing wrong?

Obviously it would depend on what you're using to slightly dampen the microfiber cloth. Perhaps you could consider using a commercial product specifically designed for screens. There are many; I have used the Windex Electronic Wipes without any problems.

I’ve been using distilled water. I’d fill up a small spray bottle and spritz my microfiber cloth. It isn’t as bad if I let it dry on its own. It gets worse when I wipe it with a dry microfiber after.

I use eyeglass cleaner from my optician. Spray directly on screen, then wipe with dry microfibre. It appears to be a simple mix of water, surfactant, and perhaps a little isopropyl alcohol.
