How to Clean Carbon from CPU

I'm dying of curiosity: how did carbon get all over your CPU?

As far as cleaning: a small toothbrush with soft bristles and isopropyl alcohol should clean it pretty well. Then rinse it with clean tap water and allow to dry well in the sunshine.

Don't let tap water air dry, it can leave deposits on the contacts. High purity alcohol will evaporate more cleanly. So if you do anything you should do the reverse. Wash with water and then flush with alcohol once cleaning is complete to remove any traces of tap water from the device. You can then allow it to dry naturally or use silica in an enclosed space.

Yeah...well...in my area our water is very low in TDMS, but I suppose I should keep in mind that some places in the world distribute something not much better than salt water.
