Hello!

Out of excitement I decided to install windows 10 onto my HDD as I wait for my SSD to arrive in the mail. Is it possible to clean to HDD? If so, can I complete this through the ASUS BIOS on my MOBO?

  • ASUS Prime 390A
  • HDD Seagate Barracuda SD2000M006
  • SSD SAMSUNG 970 EVO M.2 2280 500GB PCIe Gen3. X4, NVMe 1.3 V-NAND 3-bit MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MZ-V7E500BW

Thank you in advance!

Solution
There is no need to reinstall. The app is a C drive mover, not a clone.

If you should want to do a clean install, disconnect the hard drive during the process, or you will never be able to run without the hdd later.
You have an easy problem to solve.
When your 970 evo arrives, install it as well as the Samsung pcie drivers.
Here is a link for what you need:
Then also download the Samsung ssd migration software.
You should be able to move your windows C drive and apps to the new ssd.
When done, you change the boot order to boot from the ssd.
After, you can do what you wish with the HDD including wiping it clean.
