I recently got a new motherboard and cpu, so i need to reinstall windows, however my SSD is partitioned into: Boot, Programs, and Games. I was curious if there was a way to clone the Programs and Games partitions to my mass storage drive, format the SSD, install windows on the ssd, then move the partitions back the SSD?

Is this at all possible, or will i have to format the entire SSD and start again? i really dont want to do this as i have about 200GB of games on my ssd, and my internet is not fast enough to download them all again (recently moved).

Thanks guys

Wow late response sorry 'bout that. but yes just copy the SteamApps folder. When you re-install just copy that folder right back to where...
That depends. Programs can't really be moved as they install things to the registry so moving them to a different install breaks them.

Games if they are Steam, Origin, Uplay, Battle.net, and others like that you can move the game files to a different HDD, etc and then when you copy them back and reinstall the launcher just tell them where the launchers where the files are.

Thanks for your replies. I'm not sure what my OS is, I bought the key from g2a. And as for moving programs, I don't mind if I lose them, so long as I don't lose my games. So I can move just copy all the folders on my games partition, to a folder on my mass storage, then copy them back when I reinstall windows and get the games partition set back up? But how do I get stream to see that the games are already installed? Last time I tried it, it just kept saying that the folder has to be empty when installing a game, it was skyrim, I had it installed but was showing as not installed on steam,
