How to configure raid 1 with different drives?

can i configure raid 1 with 3 drives that are not the same brand for example

1 SSD samsung 250GB
1 HDD western digital 1TB
1 HDD Seagate barracuda 1TB

What will end up happening is you will lost 75% of your drive space on the hard drives if you try to mirror over all three disks. You can do a raid one mirror on just your 1TB's through Windows.

1. RAID 1 array size is limited to the smallest drive in the group
2. Why are you trying to RAID an SSD with HDD's?

You're killing off the performance of the SSD, and limiting the size on the HDD's.

So that means it's better if i configure then in raid 1

i'm trying to do a simple raid 1 setup using via bios mode.

but it would be much easier if i do it straight on the bios mode. (of course reinstalling everything)
