How to connect 2 routers?

I just installed a new TP link ac1750 in my house but I need more range. I have a second TP link ac1750 that acts as a LAN in my office which is the current wifi dead spot. Can I just connect this with a cat6 cable and extend my range or will I need to config etc.

You will need to configure it as an access point rather than a router, but other than that sure.

That's what I thought - so then I will just have a single IP instead of 2 like I have now. One for my internet and one for my NAS?

And then as far as physical cabling this is what I have please correct if I am wrong.

Router 1 is plugged into my modem and the Internet port on the back of the router

Router 2 is plugged from the out of router 1 to the Internet port of router 2.

Is this correct?
