[SOLVED] How to Connect 4 pin to 8pin cpu Power

Hi, i just bought motherboard with cpu, and my motherboard needs 8 pin power cable for cpu, but my psu is only 4 pin, will it work if i connect 4 pin cable to 8 pin cpu power?

Maybe. But you really need a new power supply.

If your PSU doesn't have a 8-pin EPS cable, than you need a new power supply. Its cut and dry. I haven't seen only 4pin EPS since the 3.3v main rail days (pre-2006).

I will buy a new one but wont it hurt my cpu for now if its 4 pin cable?
