How to connect a internal HDD to a laptop to retrieve data ?

Hey,
I have a internal HDD which was formatted but I am planning to recover the data using data recovery softwares.

So please can anyone help me in connecting the internal HDD to my laptop to retrieve my files ?

What all cables and peripheral s do u need for this ? I am a newbie to this kind of things please help .

yah just like @mark suggested. just grab any Sata3.0/2.0 to Usb 3.0 adapter/docking bay. your HDD/SSD will become USB external drive. be sure its a self-powered one.
