how do i connect my advent laptop to the tv using a mdmi cable? i hve tred everything but nothing is appearing one screen at al , apart from "no signal"?

Well what laptop are you using? We need the exact model to be of much help. Most laptops you have to use the "Fn" (function key) plus F2 or F3 or other keys to switch display outputs but it is different between brands and can change depending on your gpu brand.. If you have an ATI \AMD gpu opening up catalyst control will usually detect all connected displays. Hope this helps. Let us know what you have for a laptop....
