How to connect asus rog swift pg278q to computer

Hello good people,
I have 2 questions:

I can not seem to connect my new rog swift pg278q to my computer.
It seems i am missing a wire or adapter.
The rog swift uses an displayport cabel that my motherboard/gpu does not have.
I am using a rog swift,MSI Z97 gaming 5,and a AMD R9 295x2.


And when i power up the monitor the logo apears,but i cant get the display menu to show.
Does it need to be connected to the pc to be able to show the menu or could the monitor be flawed?

Your gpu should have a display port output use that.

Standard R9-295X2 has 4 mini-display ports, no standards. You will need an adapter, or a Mini-Display Port to Display Port cable.

Hey man thanks allot,i just bought the cable from newegg.
I hope it works.
What do you think about the menu not showing?
When i hit the buttons on the back of the monitor i get nothing.

Not sure on that one. On Screen Display should work regardless if there is a signal or not. I don't personally own one, though Soon™, so it could be a little different. Maybe the G-Sync module needs a signal from the GPU to even display anything?
