so the Asus Maximum XI Hero wifi mobo has an 8 pin (4 + 4) socket and an extra 4 pin socket for its cpu. Do i use an 8 pin (4 + 4) connector for the first 8 pin socket, and another 8 pin (4 + 4) connector but only plug in one of the 4 pin connector into the 4 pin socket on the mobo and leave the extra 4 pin connector out? I can't find a single 4 pin cpu connector

here is the spec sheet, scroll down to internal i/o ports it says
1 x 8-pin EATX 12V Power connectors
1 x 4-pin ATX 12V Power connector(s)
https://www.asus.com/ca-en/Motherboards/ROG-MAXIMUS-XI-HERO-WI-FI/specifications/

are you exactly sure? Because EATX 12V and ATX 12V sounds different to me

so you are saying those two are the same thing and I can just use the 2 4+4 pin cables from my EVGA g3 850w for them?
