How to connect multiple external hdd to laptop

Hi,

I'm looking for "something" to which I can connect 4~6 usb external hdds and then I can connect my laptop to that "something" using single usb 3.0 cable.

I know I can go for docking stations, but they are really costly and I want to connect only usb external hdds. So buying a dock is not necessary given that other ports on dock will not be used and I don't want to spend money on unused ports.

Nope I haven't.
But I was browsing through and saw some people complaint about their usb 3. hub.

I want some reliable device.
