how to connect my gpu to the monitor

Yesterday i brought an asus gtx 760
My monitor is LG FLATRON E1942C
And it has only one vga port so i brought this

From amazon for connecting to my monitor.....but my monitor shows "NO SIGNAL " message.....

Do you have another monitor/TV you can use to test and make sure the new graphics card is working fine? What are you other PC specs?
