I should just say that I'm a total networking novice, I have no experience with this stuff so please forgive me for asking stupid questions. I just built a PC and I'm disappointed to find out I need a pci-e network card to connect to wifi, my only option right now is to take it and my monitor downstairs and plug it into my router. Thats kind of a pain, is there anyway to use say my laptop or one of those network extenders that plug into your wall (I have a few of those lying around) to connect my pc to the internet?

Solution
Maybe the network extender depending on model. Give us the details and we can see whats what. Otherwise you have 3 options:
Buy a wireless card. The TP-LINK TL-WDN4800 is a pretty solid one.

Buy a Ethernet over powerline kit. The TP-Link TL-PA4026KIT AV500 is a good place to start, I personally like the ZyXEL PLA5405KIT but they're pricier.

Buy a really long cat5 cable, run it up the stairs. This will likely piss off anyone else in the house and provide a massive tripping hazard.
I understand I can just order a super long cord, but for tonight and until it gets here, is there a solution to my problem or should I just cary the thing downstairs. Its a full ATX size so its kind of a pain
