So, using plymouth as it is intended is cool and all, but I'd be much more interested in how to take control of the Pi to the degree that it might look like a custom product - no Raspberry text scroll at the start, maybe a custom image or animation there instead. Bonus points if the color splash can be customized. Otherwise, why not just change the desktop wallpaper and be done?

I also looked how to change the color screen, and there is no text scroll for me. Are you sure your not booting to the client, or have the setting to boot without the splash screen?
