Before I write anything, I understand the dangers and why the system is in place.
I recently performed a mod on my x5460 lga771 CPU, so that it fits into my EVGA 680i mobo.
The mod was successfully and the system posted.
However, during windows 7, my system restarts.
I have noticed that the BIOS reports that my CPU is +80C, which I know is not correct because straight after shutting it down, the CPU feels nothing like 80C, 40C maximum.
I think that because of the mod, and that the CPU is not *officially* supported, the BIOS is reporting the wrong temperature and is falsely triggering for the system to shutdown.
I would like to know if there is any way of disabling the automated system. Just in case it does to overheat, I am sure there are accurate pieces of software that can report it.
My system has Award BIOS, version p33.
Thank you in advance
