[SOLVED] How to disable CPU overclock ?

Solution
So somehow my CPU has overclocked itself and seems to run between 4-5ghz, when I never did this myself. I've been having some PC freezes lately and have eliminated essentially everything else as a culprit.

How can I turn it back down?

It's not the clock, it's the turbo boost

I have an i7 11700K with a base clock of 3.60 GHz and it reaches 5.0 GHz. It's perfectly normal

You can check your CPU specifications at the link below:

Edit: If you want to get a lower frequency, you have to go to Control Panel> Power Options and select...

Looks normal, why do you think it’s overclocked?

If you are having issues with the pc freezing then start a thread about that including the full pc spec.

I have a thread about it already.

Is it normal? I don't know, I thought the speed was meant to be 3.70ghz.
