so i have windows 8.1 it seems to crash and forcing me to manually restart everytime i let the disk usage get to high now im think that if i disable the apm/aam it would help but it seems thats not but i tried to disable it on crystal disk info but the options were grayed out is there any other way to disable apm/aam?

Solution
Try permanently disabling the BITS (background intelligent transfer) service
(Task manager will let you stop it, Admin tools > services will you you prevent it from starting back up)
Excuse my language, but
what mushrooms did you eat before thinking of this?

If windows crashes, you find out reasons in Event Viewer
or describe crashing symptoms at least (that could help pinpointing the problem).

Advanced power management/Auto acoustic management has nothing to to with your crashes.

going to do it but before i do i need to set my os back up i just did a factory reset
