[SOLVED] How to disable intel turbo boost or completely disable automatic OC

Hi there,

My PC conig is as listed below:

Core i7 8700k
ASRock z370 taichi
16GB HyperX fury
GTX 1080

Its pretty hot here in my region and because of that my CPU running hotter than expected without any extreme OC. Idle temp is around 40-42c and Load temp is around 62-65c.

Please help me completely disable OC to keep the system cool and quite.

those load temps are fine.

somewhere in the bios you'll have a max turbo setting, just set it to whatever the non turbo level is for an 8700k.

Your temperatures are fine for a hotter environment.
You need do nothing.

I suppose you could reduce the multiplier from the stock 3.7 to a lower number.
But, then why in the world would you spend big bucks on a 8700K?

I had big bucks so i spent it on 8700k xD

its like 40c hot here, but winter is coming so prolly OC it to 5GHz. can anyone please suggest what is the max temperature limit for 8700k?

40c. = 104F. My sympathies.

Not to worry.
The processor will slow down or shut off if it senses a dangerous temperature.
That point is around 100c.

Pay attention to case airflow intake; that is the key to managing temperatures.

And... remember that liquid cooling is really air cooling.
It is not necessarily more effective in a good case than a good air cooler.

Found an option called turbo boost and disabled it, temps are now 55C under load
