How to disable onboard graphics

Hello, so I am trying to do stuff with my PC for the first time but when I plug my HDMI cord into my graphics port it won't load. I plug it into the motherboard one and it does. So this makes me assume it's onboard graphics.

TL;DR How do I disable onboard graphics on a GIGABYTE motherboard

Hi, What motherboard and what graphics card? If the onboard works when card inserted, it means that the card does not get the necessary power from the PCIe power cables. Check if all required cables are connected to the card.

The graphics card lights power up and the fans work on it

But the graphics card does not show up at all it basically doesn't exist in BIOS

I have both PCI-E cables connected to both of the inputs which are connected to the PSU what's not connected?

Then the PCie slot does not work, or the card is dead. Try testing it in the second PCIe slot of the board.

Sorrry for my ignorance about this but the lights and fans still work on it

Try removing it from the 1st PCie slot and installing it in the 2nd one. If still the same, try clearing the CMOS (unplug the power cord and remove the CMOS battery for a minute).

I moved it to a different slot, thank you so much

You're welcome. However, the fact that it does not work in the first slot indicates that either the PCie slot is defective, or there might be some bent pins in the CPU socket.

No I had it in the second slot without realizing
