How to Double my overall Speed?

what i have is an Alienware Aurora bought in 2008.
Intel Core i7 920 @ 2.67GHz
Bloomfield
Socket 1366 LGA

To DOUBLE my overall computer speed, do i HAVE to upgrade motherboard AND CPU?
or can i simply just upgrade the CPU with something like this:

My main usage is: Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere and gaming.
