Software can only fix bad sectors that aren't physical, generally related to a software issue that leads the sector to be marked bad. Physically damaged bad sectors of the hard drive can not be repaired.

If you're still having these kinds of issues after running diagnostics, then the hard drive is likely on its way to the grave and should not be used.

But my hdd is just new and i always care for my hdd put it slowly in my chassis but i somtimea bump my pc with my foot but it is not all the time. I think this is a software bad sector? How can i fix it? Thanksss @DSzzymborski

The official diagnostic and repair program is seatools which you can download directly from Seagate.

Regardless, consider upgrading to a ssd. It makes all you do quicker.
Buy a samsung evo of sufficient capacity to hold what you need. That might be 240gb not 500gb.
Use the free ssd migration app to move your c drive to the new ssd.

But when i use sea tools and choose " fix then long" it does not finish it only finish up to 8% then theres an issue then the sea tools want me to download seatools for dos but i dont know how to use that sea dos and icant boot that to pen drive, and how can i use sea tools effectively??? Thanksss I dont want to have a ssd for now

You said above it was a used hard drive. It's hard to give you an answer without a consistent description of what the situation is. I'll let someone else field this one.

If you bought from ebay, request to return the unit as not advertised.
ebay will side with you on this.

Using seatools, you should be able to reformat the drive.
If the reformat process finds a bad sector, it will mark it as unusable and substitute a spare.
Of course all data will be erased in the process.

That's a used hard drive; a stranger used it for an undetermined amount of time. Request a refund from ebay.

When you put the serial number into the RMA request on Seagate's website, does it come up under warranty?

If I have to guess, this guy foisted an old dying hard drive off on you, either his own hard drive or one he bought used elsewhere.

From where did you install Windows? That could matter with BSOD.

Unless you open the package from the manufacturer, it is "used".

"and he used it for like weeks or days only"
That is NOT new.

Is it safe to download and does my file will be kept ? i mean without damaging my system and fixing all the bad sectors on my hdd?

Where in the seagate can i input my rma in hdd? It is always drie C: when i install my windows.

How do i use sea tools? when i use it it only stops and cant continue the process due to failing sector? and when i clicked the information it takes me to sea tools for dos and i dont how to use that as a bootable

Yes it is a safe download.

How CHKDSK works is it examines every sector on your hard drive.
Most bad sectors can't be repaired, basically they are deleted.
If it finds a bad sector it moves the info to a good sector and tries to fix it, but if it can't it marks the bad sector as dead.
The bad sectors won't be used again and it will very slightly reduce total HDD capacity.

I'm not asking what the directory of Windows is, I'm asking how you obtained and installed your current copy of Windows.

I get into the microsoft office website and got a free windows 7 ulti sp1 and make it as a bootable usb then i format my hdd and i use Snappy Driver Installer ( Offline) to have my drivers in my pc and downloaded essential applications and software

But how can i use the "Ease us Partition Master" I cant find a tutorial on youtube on how to check disk and fix manually the bad sectors using this Ease us application TIA!!!

Honestly, I suspected this wasn't a legitimate copy before and given that there's no "free" version of Windows 7 Ultimate, I'm even more sure now, so in accordance with Tom's policy, I cannot provide any more advice. Best of luck to you.
