So I want to create some VMs on my home desktop (W10) and i keep running into a problem. I can't enable Hyper-V, more specifically the 'platform' option. I have enabled virtualization from BIOS. I even tried turning off my McAfee and firewall but it didn't change anything. Any tips?

Lol.

Checking further, looks like you can't enable hyper v on windows 10 home edition. So you would need pro, education or enterprise.

As far as McAfee, McAfee is a side rant. If you've paid for it, hopefully it runs well for you.

I'm a Helpdesk guy, and have worked on computers since about 17. Will turn 40 this year. Which is scary. I've worked on quite a few systems, and the ones I've worked on didn't leave me wanting to run out and purchase their products. But they may work totally fine for you. These days at home I personally use the built in Windows defender. It seems light and half decent, and doesn't get in the way to often.

Not just about McAfee, I've seen others do this more, but sometimes those antivirus programs get fun when they get embedded in your system and you have to try to forcibly remove them if they break.

I didn't pay for it personally, I got it free from a friend. So why not use it 😀 I have a laptop too, and it runs windows 10 Education, still the same problem.
