I recently found that in the System Information of Nvidia Control Panel, the "Bus" details is PCI Express x16 Gen2, does anyone know how to enable PCI-Express Gen 3?

P.S. My graphic card is ASUS Geforce Titan Black and the mother board is ASUS X99 WS/ipmi.

Hi gm_36, I noticed you have also the motherboard ASUS X99 WS/IPMI. I am trying for a while to get Debian jessie or the latest Ubuntu on this motherboard. But the UEFI causes a lot of problems and i still haven't managed to succeed. How did you manage this? I am eager to hear your solution.

it looks like the option to select gen3 in the bios of x99 boards has been removed or hidden by asus, as I cannot find the option to set it manualy from gen 2 to 3 on my x99 with r9 290x either...its annoying..(only have gen 1 &2 as an option no gen 3 is present in the bios: I have latest bios update)
yes I get that pci-e2.0 is more than sufficient...but that just isnt the point...I should expect to get these features if they are available on the technology (i.e. mobo)! ......but looks like we may have to wait till gen3 gets more popular an asus give a bios update to unlock the feature to work on the board!! either that or their has to be summit in the bios that needs changing to allow gen3 to appear as an option!!.....maybe somebody should message Asus an find out lol!
