I am trying to extend the wifi signal in my apartment. I have great speeds when I am in the kitchen but when I go into the living room or bedroom the speed drops to almost nothing. I am a tenant and have access to the signal and would like to extend it to where I would be using it with my tv, computer, and phone. Is there anyway I can do this without having to have the landlord to do anything? I don't want to inconvenience and would like to just do it on my own.

If you have the landlord's permission to be using that wifi, you can try a wifi repeater:
"A WiFi Repeater effectively contains two wireless routers, similar to the wireless router you already have in your home or office. One of these wireless routers picks up the existing WiFi network. It then transfers the signal to the other wireless router, which transmits the boosted signal."

If you don't have the landlord's permission, we can't help you. No offense meant, just the rules here.
