Hello,

I have many File Explorer and Software and Files (docx/xlsx/pdf/txt) opened. How to copy all path locations of them so I can remember to reopen them after I restart windows 10?

After I restart windows 10, I want to open everything to be the same like before I restart. For now, before I restart I need to waste time typing what are opened in a notepad or do screenshot so I can remember what items are opened.

Thanks

That depends on the program you opened the file with. Some of them can show you the folder/file location. Some cannot. Try looking in the File menu or other menus. Maybe you can find something like "Open folder" or open location, or containing folder.
Some programs keep a list of recently opened files and show paths there.

Notepad++ has an ability to do exactly as you ask, but i don't think may programs do.

If you can open the file's containing folder, you can easily get the path by right clicking the file and selecting Copy as path (Ctrl+Shift+C), by clicking inside the path panel (to the right of Edge > in the screenshot)

That will display the full path and automatically highlight it so you can cut or copy it right away

If you can't open the file's location in File Explorer, you can try to use Save As to open the file saving window. If the location is the same, you can again click inside the path to highlight and copy the full path or try right clicking on the file to copy it's path.
Some programs will always save open files in their existing location, some will always save in a default location regardles of where the open file is located.

If you can't open the file's location using any of these methods, you will have to find it yourself.

I know of no way of copying the paths of all files opened across all applications to the clipboard en masse. Maybe you should suggest it to Microsoft.

Is it right click on the text [Edge] and then select [Copy address]? I am using windows 10 pro.

You can do that too. Right click on files or folders, and then select Copy address.

I meant you have to left click next to the "Edge >", in empty space. That shows the full path so you can copy it. It's a little awkward to explain, and my screenshot didn't include the mouse cursor.

That is what hibernation is for.
Is sleep or hibernation better? (By default I do not have hibernation so I use sleep (win 10 pro in my start I see this start>power>sleep/shut down/restart))

I do use sleep but I still need to restart or shut down sometimes after install/uninstall software/updates so I started this thread to ask my question.
