About a year ago LAN port on my PC's mainboard and LAN port on the Zyxel modem both stopped working at the same time (possibly caused by an electrical issue).
Finally, it made me to disable onboard LAN in bios and install a discreet LAN card. I used the new LAN card with the same cable to connect to my laptop to PC to share files.
Also, I'm using the Zyxel modem through USB Cable and there is no connectivity problem, so the Zyxel modem works fine. But the issue is with the LAN port on the modem.
My modem does not support Win 7 and above through USB (due to lack of compatible driver), so I need it's LAN port for Win 10 and for my smart TV.
The eight tiny wires on the port are good. I also disassembled the modem and did not see any visible deformation in the electrical parts.
So, despite the fact that the Zyxel modem is working and is able to connect through USB port, and there is a working LAN on my PC and Laptop, and the cable is working too, do you still believe that the entire (modem) unit must be replaced?
