I re-installed Windows 10 pro about a month ago and everything seemed to be working fine, until about last week I noticed a ton of random slowdowns. Typing a reply on a YT video, for example, my system hung for about 2 mins and then what I wrote got typed out as I watched. Some of my software like 3Ds max is really slow when trying to scroll in the tools etc.

Today I tried to run Chivalry 2 after downloading an update and I got 2 different blue screens of death (for the first time in years). The first BSOD was Kernel_Mode_Heap_Corruption so I ran a Windows memory test but it came back without errors. Then the second BSOD was an IRQL_Not_Less_Or_Equal error.
I checked Device Manager and there's an Unknown device listed under Other Devices, but the Hardware Ids don't look like they're working. They just say ACPI\VEN_CYP&DEV_0002

I have no idea how to fix this issue.

Solution
have you run windows update to see if it figures out what the device is?

often these end up being chipset drivers for some part of the mobo. try grabbing them from your mobo vendor and installing it. they include a handful of different things that could be the unkown device.
Yeah, Windows Update says my system is up to date.

That device is the Thunderbolt port. Install all of the motherboard drivers from the manufacturer's website.

Windows update will not identify the port. A simple web search on the device string (ACPI\VEN_CYP&DEV_0002) turns up pages of info.
I don't have a thunderbolt port. I also did do a search and I didn't find out what the hardware is. Just a bunch of people saying they have a similar problem.

Oh, I missed the Optional Updates link... It had the same Intel drivers listed about 50 times. I checked everything off and that seems to have gotten rid of the Unknown Device. Fingers crossed that's the solution.
Thanks guys!

Just a little heads up for the future. Just because a physical port, in this case Thunderbolt, doesn't exist externally does not mean that there isn't some electronics on the motherboard that implements such a port (for use in systems that DO have a port). You still need the driver/s to satisfy the device manager. Fingerprint scanners on laptops is a prime example. Not all models in a particular line have the physical scanner but they ALL have the electronics on the motherboard, and it appears in the device manager.
