Still useful, regardless of user experience. Thank you for getting into the trouble of posting such a concrete and inclusive bit of help.

After remove viruses using Hitman Pro, my win 7 stops booting and only showed a BSOD. Safe Mode and the rest of that menu wasn't working either.
Only option available was Recovery Console.
Creating a new BCD solved the problem and Win 7 is booting normally again!
Thanks a lot!

Thank you soooooooooo much. I was ready to throw my brand new laptop out the window until I came across this blog. It worked flawlessly on a machine that had Linux installed. Great work man!!!

Great article. Saved my laptop. Tried a bunch of things and was about to throw in the towel and reformat/reinstall windows on my system when I found this. I followed your instructions under the section "Fixing the Master Boot Record (MBR)" and like magic, everything was working perfectly. Thanks

GREAT guide!

i used it twice with my new HP where i dual install Ubuntu and Windows7 and played with partitions and sizes a lot hehe.

Thank you for posting this "How to". My husband closed my son's laptop while he had a game running. That corrupted the operating system so badly that it would not restart at all, not even autofix. I googled this site and was able to try several steps listed here, all of which failed unfortunately, until I got to the "create a recovery disc". I created it on my own laptop and was able to get my son's computer up and running again. This saved me (ahem, rather, my husband) a few hundred dollars at the repair shop!! Thanks again.

Who ever makes this article, she's/he's a total genius. Thanks for posting it. Help me a lot on understanding how to fix computers. Now i can go off with new experience. Thanks a bunch. XD

OH MY GOD - THIS ARTICLE JUST SAVED ME SO MUCH TIME/EFFORT/TEARS ETC. Thank you so much - seriously.

Saved me from a complete re-install, I could do this with XP and previous versions blindfolded.

Thanks

Fantastic Article just wished the author would teach some of those helpers giving advice over the Internet who dont know a ......such as "Take it to the Dealer" etc. Thanks, made my day

Thank you! This really helped me a lot. I was having some problems after a failed Linux install and it messed up my Windows partition. Hopefully I won't have to do a clean install as that would be a pain.
