I have a new Asus B85 chipset Pro Gamer board and I wish to plugin a INtel i5 4690k CPU. They are both new was wondering if I plug the CPU in that the mobo would actually boot into flash so I can chuck on the flash file.

No, you need to temporarily install a CPU which is supported by the existing BIOS in order to apply a BIOS update, or contact ASUS and send it to them, they'll do it for a small charge. The mobo won't even POST if you fit an incompatible processor, so flash update would be impossible.

Just be aware if your doing the bios update and goes wrong, the motherboard will in 99% of cases become unusable. Bios is what allows the software to communicate with the hardware. for example the os wont be able to run on it. meaning you wont be able to sign into windows, let alone start it up at all. The best solution, if you absolutly need it to be done, send it to the manufacture. But other then that, id recommend u avoid getting a motherboard that needs a bios update.

I have the same CPU and Mainboard and my mine posted first time and bios has been updated via the Asus support site, only problem with my board is that DIMM slots 3 and 4 don't work and cause no posting/power cycling issue
