How To Format A New SSD To Install Windows 10?

Hello, all! I just got myself a brand new Intel 545s series SSD and I'm puzzled as to why Windows 10 is not installing on it. I suspect that I need to format this SSD before I install anything, but how do I do that without an OS on it? Plain English for me, please, as I'm not as savvy as I'd like to be, and thank you all in advance!

there is an option to delete/format disks in windows installation.

n0ns3ns3, I got to that point in the installation and it would not give me that option. It only gives me the options of loading drivers or refreshing. Everything else is gray and does not respond to the cursor.

BIOS says "HDD uninstalled", so no I think it doesn't. I may have to wrestle with the BIOS, it would appear.

it means that the either the SSD is not properly connected or malfunctioning.
