Hey! So my old laptop died, and I'm trying to put the M.2 SATA ssd it had somewhere else to use it as storage. It has Windows 7 downloaded, sadly, and I'm afraid if I put it directly into my new pc it'll mess it up.

Is there a way I can format the SSD without it being in a physical computer? Or a way to put it in WITH windows 7 installed?

I'd think that the drive from the laptop would just show up as D, E, or F and you could format it at will from the new PC from Disk Management.
Interesting. I was worried that it might cause problems to the Windows 10 I have installed in my new laptop.
