I'm trying to pass a Dolby signal through one of my USB ports but I'm wondering if this is even possible? I need something that does USB to Optical for a decoder box I use. Unfortunately I'm mostly lost when it comes to the Sound side of things and was wondering if anybody knew something that could help me achieve this.

Ok I think I understand what you want, you want an external USB souncard with a optical passthrough capability (optical in & out), if thats the case then the Turtlebeach wont really help, you would need something like this (Creative Labs Sound Blaster Extigy):

or one of these (Sound Blaster X-Fi HD):

What if I already have http://www.turtlebeach.com/product-detail/dolby-processor-accessories/ear-force-dss2/33 If there anything I could use with that?
