With Windows 10 installed on your PC, you’re no longer required to install a third-party app or surf through the web to check the currency values. The built-in Calculator app has its own currency converter that helps you with this.
However, since most of the times you’d be looking for the most updated currency conversion values, your PC must be connected to the Internet.
Here’s how you can use the Calculator app as a currency converter:
Click the currently selected currency, and click your preferred one from the drop-down list (United Kingdom – Pound for this example). This selects the currency of your preference. You can select the currencies for both to and from drop-down lists for conversion as per your region or business.

Here’s how you can use the Calculator app as a currency converter:
- ■Launch Calculator
Type CALCULATOR in the Cortana search box, and click Calculator from the Best match list (or press Enter). This launches the Calculator app. The app can be used as a standard, scientific, programming, and data calculator, and can also be used to convert the commonly used units.
■Change the layout
Click the More icon (icon with three horizontal lines) from the top-left corner, and click Currency from the Converter section. This switches the app to the Currency layout. Here you can enter the value for one currency to view its converted value.
■Change the currencies
Click the currently selected currency, and click your preferred one from the drop-down list (United Kingdom – Pound for this example). This selects the currency of your preference. You can select the currencies for both to and from drop-down lists for conversion as per your region or business.
