Hello, i dont know if this is the place for this question. But here it is

I have a windows 10 pc thats old and slow and just failed to load windows, already tried system restore and doesnt work, question is, how can i get my files back? tried to plug the hdd to another pc with windows 11 through sata -usb adapter, windows detects the hdd and i can see the drive and enter some folder and copy files but cant enter user folders ence cant copy important files that were in my documents, how can i access them?

You might need to take ownership in Windows.

If it failed to load Windows, there's a very good chance the problem is the drive itself. In which case, your main resort is to try to see if Recuva or DMDE help you out. Should you still be able to access files at this point, you'll need to contact a professional recovery lab, though be forewarned that competent labs can be quite expensive, on the level of the cost of a midrange PC or more.

Unfortunately, if you have not properly kept backups, the only surefire way to recover files -- not lose them in the first place -- is unavailable to you.
