How to give >1,7 volts to a cellyII / BH6?

I did flash BIOS with Vcore set to 1,7v and it worked fine, could go as high as 1,9Volts. But in one of the atempts to reach higher speeds for my celeronII 566 it would't boot, so I had to reset CMOS, and then SURPRISE!!, the max voltage was set back to 1,7v. I wasn't pleased but though "well..flashing again with Vcore set to 1,7 would solve it..." NOPE. Then I flashed it to the earlier Bios version, and back to the SS version (latest) another time with Vcore set to 1,7 . Nothing changed. Can somebody tell me what point am I missing?
Excuse me if you've already seen this post in the forum, but got no answers so far and could fit in different secctions.
Thanks for any help.

I had the same problem with BE6 v. 1 -> I reflashed with the appropriate options, yet the max. voltage in the SoftMenu did not change. :-(((
My Celeron2 566 doesn't want to do 850, have to settle for 708... I sincerely think about taping some pins on the converter, as this seems the only way to do it. Unless somebody has some real *IDEAS*! Hope somebody will, as I do not feel like frying my Celeron because of a mistake (gee... 3.0V on Celeron2 is a killer...)
So, any ideas??? MrGomez, have you solved it already?

Hi Gregu!
I did find a solution. I hope it works for you too.

Fist of all my mobo is BH6 rev 1.01, so I don't think I'll differ a lot from urs. Ok, the problem was that I first re-flased the newest bios (SS), nothing. Then I tried with the earlier one (QN), nothing.

Finally, this weekend I made a little risky move. I tried the first one that seemed to support coppermine CPU, though said nothing about celeron (NV version). It would't recognice it, it saw it as a PIII, but would boot and let me flash. set Vcore to 1,7 v and flash back the latest (SS), and there you go!!

Now I have it back able to reach 1,9 Volts. So you have to go back to the NV version, set Vcore to 1,7 and then reflash to SS (I guess NV works too).

Before you try, let me tell you in case BH6 V1.00 was different It would be better to boot NV with a slotket that can limit voltage. I didn't had any trouble, but you know, just in case.

My celly does 877 with 1,7 volts and Turbo frequecy enabled (it boots as 850, but in W98 shows 877). Besides cooling, slotket can make a great difference in stability (ovclocking). They're cheap so I'd get a good one. I'm using just a regular heat sink with a pretty big fan blowing on it.

I bet you already know, but in case not abit's page is http://www.abit.com.tw

GOOD LUCK!
