How to hook up my graphics card.

So I bought a new graphics card for my computer. it has a 6 pin plug in on the card and the cable that came with it is a 6 pin connector on one side and two 4 pin connectors on the other side. there is no where from the power supply to hook up my 4 pin connectors. I don't know what to do? any help??

The power supply should have cables labeled "VGA" that plug into it. What card specifically is it?

Might also be helpful to know what power supply you're using, though as turkey3 said there are typically labels on the cable that tell you what it is for.

it's a Radeon r7 360. there is no cables in the power supply

The standard power supplies within a HP Pavillion aren't meant to support a good graphics card. On the main R7-360 website it says:

Requirements

External Power - 6-pins : 1
Minimum Power Supply Requirement : 500 watt
Recommended Power Supply : 650W PSU

You definitley don't have a 650w PSU in your HP Pavillion.

Edit: That said, I can make a couple of PSU suggestions.

1) The EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G1 80+ GOLD is a great PSU for $75
2) The Corsair CX Series 500 Watt ATX/EPS Modular 80 PLUS Bronze would probably work at $60
3) You might be able to get away with the EVGA 100-W1-0500-KR 500w at $40

Nope. And I wouldn't run that graphics card on that power supply anyway, because that could get too close or even surpass the power supply's maximum wattage. Prebuilt computers don't have the best power supplies and they are usually low-wattage.

The power supplies that come with pre-built computers are usually garbage(And likely not even good enough to power a separate GPU) and I doubt yours came with a modular one... I don't get why there wouldn't be cables...

If it is a modular one (Basically means the cables are removable btw) the cables should come with the power supply, or in this case with the whole PC.

If for whatever reason it really is a modular PSU with no cables the you need to buy a new PSU (Power Supply Unit).

It's possible to buy cables separately, but that's generally something only modders do and it's expensive. (Unless you use regular cables and buy them from like ebay or whatever)

The cables are pretty uniform. Unless they are bad quality, you can use any (right) cable and it should work.
For that you need to know what you're doing though...

It could be better. If you have the money there are better quality ones you could get.
It's probably fine though.

But can you give a link to where you got the PC from or something?
It would be good to know the specs of the rest of the system, so as to better advise you. 😛

Thermaltakes are not good power supplies. You don't want to get a low quality unit that can die on you early. Antes makes good cheap units. Seasonic is always good to go with.
