I have a issue with my internet speed, I play Pc games which normally requires a direct Ethernet cable straight into the router however the router isn't in my room and I'm not in the position to drill holes into the wall as its not my flat. At the moment i have a wifi booster plugged into my wall and my ethernet cable going directly into it, this of course isn't up to the standard I need to play games. What other options do I have? Is it worth getting internal wifi in my pc or even a third party router?

Have you tried Wi-Fi over coax? The main problem with Wi-Fi over the air at 20+ feet from the router is that the modulation (see mcsindex.com) begins to fall from 256-QAM to 16-QAM and lower, and when that happens, half or more of your Mbps go out the window. If you connect a router to a Wi-Fi over coax kit, the signal doesn't degrade for hundreds of feet. You just need unused cable outlets, and the kit turns the outlets into antennas.

Powerline throughput depends on factors somewhat beyond your control, like the use of split-phase power in your flat or interference from microwave usage. Range extenders cut throughput by more than half. So really, there aren't many options except Wi-Fi over coax that would keep throughput high over those distances.
