Hello
Is there anything that can be done to improve the cooling system of the following old desktop computer?
It seems the ventilator works but for some reason CPU core temperatures end up going high enough to reach the critical levels easily and the computer ends up turning off quite often except for winter time.
For example uploading pictures to Google photos overheats CPU quickly, in around 4 minutes, so that it's cores reach 92-93 centigrade degrees and then the computer shuts down automatically.
The temperatures in idle state doing nothing after boot-up are as follows, which is not really high, but they go higher easily:
Cada 2,0s: sensors Fujitsu: Tue May 19 14:46:55 2020
acpitz-virtual-0
Adapter: Virtual device
temp1: +30.0°C (crit = +110.0°C)
coretemp-isa-0000
Adapter: ISA adapter
Core 0: +70.0°C (high = +82.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)
Core 1: +70.0°C (high = +82.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)
Core 2: +66.0°C (high = +82.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)
Core 3: +69.0°C (high = +82.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)
The desktop computer has the following settings:
Lubuntu 18.04
dmidecode -t 2
# dmidecode 3.1
Getting SMBIOS data from sysfs.
SMBIOS 2.5 present.
